Bangladesh Film Archive and Rajshahi University organise Liberation War Film Festival
Marking the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence and the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Rajshahi University and Bangladesh Film Archive jointly organised a three-day festival on Liberation War movies.
The event was inaugurated at Rajshahi University's Martyr Shukhronjon Samaddar Teacher Student Centre (TSC) at 4 pm yesterday.
Nizamul Kabir, Director General of Bangladesh Film Archive inaugurated the event, while Vice Chancellor of Rajshahi University Professor Dr Chowdhury Mohammad Jakaria and Professor Mohammad Sultan Ul Islam were the chief guests.
Playwright Professor Moloy Bhowmick and President of Ritwik Ghatak Film Society Dr F M A Jahid also attended the event.
The festival began on December 21 will run until December 23, everyday from 3 pm to 9 pm.
On December 21, Nasir Uddin Yousuff directorial "Guerrilla" was screened along with two other films "Chironjib Bangabandhu" and "Tomari Hok Joy".
Alamgir Kabir's "Dhirey Bohe Meghna", Jahidur Rahim Anjan's "Meghmollar", and Mohammad Reazul Mawla Rezu's "Baapjaner Bioscope" will be screened on December 22.
On the closing day, "Maya: The Lost Mother" directed by Masud Pathik, Fuad Chowdhury's documentary "Merciless Myhem" and "A Man of Piece" will be screened.
