'1971 Shei Shob Din' set for release in the US
The "1971 Shei Shob Din" movie directed by Hridi Huq, was released over a month ago. Consequently, this Liberation War-based film has already achieved much praise from audiences.
The movie was recently released in Australia to a hoard of critical acclaim, and now it is set to be released in the US soon.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Kamruzzaman Ronnie, executive producer of the film, confirmed the news to The Daily Star this morning and said, "The movie will be released in America on October 27 and hopefully it will be showcased in around 65-70 theatres."
Director Hridi said, "It is an extremely happy news for us since the film was well appreciated in our country first. It was released in Australia and now it is heading to the US!"
"I am overwhelmed by the love that this liberation war-based movie has been receiving. We always want good films to do well," she added.
"1971 Shei Shob Din", stars an ensemble cast comprising Mamunur Rashid, Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Munmun Ahmed, Shilpi Sharkar Apu, Ferdous, and Tareen, amongst others. It was officially released all over the country on August 18.
