Train services between Dhaka and four districts including Chittagong and Sylhet resumed after four hours of disruption following a train derailment in Brahmanbaria today.

A relief train from Akhaura Junction reached Ashuganj Rail Station and restored the communication around 2:30pm, said Amrita Lal Sarker, stationmaster of Brahmanbaria Railway Station.

Around 10:30am, four wheels of a freight train veered off the tracks at the outer signal of Ashuganj Rail Station halting rail link of Dhaka with Sylhet, Chittgaong, Noakhali and Chandpur, the stationmaster said.

The train was heading for Chittagong from Dhaka, reports our Brahmanbaria correspondent quoting the stationmaster.
