Youth held while delivering Yaba at court premises

Police detained a young man while delivering Yaba to an accused under police custody at Patuakhali court premises on Monday.

The arrestee, Sohel Mridha, 28, son of Delwar Hossain, is a resident of Adalatpara area in the district town, Officer-in-Charge of Patuakhali Police Station Md Mostafizur Rahman said.

Police said Sohel went to meet one of his friends Sumon, who was brought to Patuakhali court for hearing in a case filed against him, on Monday morning.

At one stage of gossiping, when Sohel tried to give some Yaba pills to Sumon secretly, one of the court police Khosru Noman, caught Sohel red handed from the spot and later handed him over to Patuakhali Police Station.

After filing a case under Narcotics Control Act, police produced Sohel before a Patuakhali court yesterday noon that sent him to jail, the OC said.
