Writ seeks stay on medical test process
A Supreme Court lawyer today filed a writ petition with the High Court seeking stay on the process of medical college admission test for the session of 2016-17.
Eunus Ali Akond, a lawyer of the SC, submitted the petition challenging legality of the relevant rules imposing that medical college admission seekers will have to get 40 percent marks in the written test.
The authorities concerned imposed the condition of getting 40 percent marks in the written test of medical admission in August this year.
In the petition, he said many admission seekers may not get 40 percent marks in the written test as there might be error in the question and answer sheet. Therefore many of them will be deprived of being admitted into the medical colleges.
He also prayed to the High Court to direct the government to form a judicial commission to investigate into the reported incident of medical admission question paper leak last year.
The HC is likely to hear the petition on Sunday, he added.
