Woman dies in clash with in-laws

A woman was killed yesterday in a clash over land with her in-laws in Mohichail union under Chandina upazila of the district.

The deceased was Shilpi Rani Das, 40, wife of Ranjit Chandra Das of Bashkali. Injured Ranjit was admitted to Comilla Medical College Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge of Chandina Police Station Ali Mahbub said Ranjit had an altercation yesterday with his nephew Samir Das over their inherited property. At one stage, Samir and his wife Rupali Das attacked Ranjit and Shilpi with a lethal weapon.

Shilpi died on the spot. Injured Ranjit was taken to Chandina Upazila Health Complex and then shifted to Comilla Medical College Hospital.

The body was sent to Comilla Medical College hospital for autopsy.

Police detained Samir and Rupali.
