Two sisters die in Cox's Bazar
Two minor sisters died and their mother fell sick apparently due to 'food poisoning' at Mehernama village in Pekua upazila on Tuesday night.
The deceased are Minzila Akter Mahi, 8, and her sister Sanjida Akter Mili, 3, daughters of Mizanur Rahman of the village, said Abdur Rakib, officer-in-charge of Pekua Police Station.
Their mother Yesmin Akter is now undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
Quoting the relatives of the victims, police said Mizan, a microbus driver, bought two packets of Biryani from a restaurant in Chokoria upazila around 3:00pm. After returning home, he gave it to his wife.
Yesmin and her two daughters fell sick immediately after taking the food around 10:00pm.
The trio were rushed to a local hospital. Mili died on way to the hospital.
Mahi and her mother were later shifted to CMCH where Mahi died soon after admission.
