Two kids drown in Padma

Two children met tragic deaths after falling into the Padma river at Char-Radhakantapur village in Sadar upazila under the district on Friday.

The victims were Jim, 9, son of Amirul Islam, and Akhi Khatun, 8, daughter of Alam Sardar of the village.

The body of Jim was recovered from the Padma river on Friday evening while locals found Akhi's body floating one kilometre away yesterday afternoon, said Officer-in-Charge of Pabna Sadar Police Station Md Obaidul Haque.

The two accidentally fell into the river when they were playing on its bank on Friday afternoon.
