Two awarded life for raping schoolgirl

A Kushtia court yesterday sentenced two men to life imprisonment for raping a schoolgirl in 2015.

Additional District and Sessions Judge-1 Mahmudul Hasan pronounced the verdict. The court also fined them Tk 1 lakh each.

They are Nazmul Hossain and Sagar Ali of Nandalalpur in Kumarkhali upazila.

Prosecution said the criminals picked the girl on a microbus when she was going to a coaching centre on August 23 in 2015 and took her to a house in Kushtia town, where they raped her.

Police rescued the girl, who filed a case with Kumarkhali Police Station on August 25 in 2015.
