School girl stabbed in Jhenidah
A school girl was stabbed by a stalker for allegedly refusing love proposal in Jhenidah town this evening.
The victim Puja Biswas, 15, is a student of class nine of Jamila Khatun Girls’ School and daughter of Bipul Majumdar of Upashsaharpara area of the town, reports our local correspondent quoting Harendranath Sarkar, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
An electrician of the same village, Litu Hossain, 22, used to tease Puja for days, said her mother Shikha Majumdar.
“As Puja discarded his proposal, Litu entered our house climbing a tree around 8:00pm and stabbed my daughter's face and right hand several times,” said the victim’s mother.
Hearing her screaming, locals and family members rushed there and took her to Jhenidah Sadar Hospital, she added.
On information, a police team rushed to the spot, the OC said, adding that they are trying to arrest the culprit.
