A rickshaw puller was hacked to death in Joypurhat municipality area early yesterday.

The victim was Santa Kumar Das, 23, son of Raghunath Das of Kundupara area of the municipality.

Police and family members said some unidentified criminals caught Santa in Kali temple area of the town around 12:30am and hacked him dead.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Joypurhat Modern Hospital for autopsy.

A murder case was filed, said the OC.
