'Punish college girl molesters'

Local people at a rally in Kamalganj upazila town yesterday demanded exemplary punishment to the culprits who molested a college girl last week.

The girl is a student of Moulvibazar Government Women's College.

On Thursday, local CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver Abdul Matlib took the girl to the vehicle near a training centre. At the time, fireman Hanif Ullah, 30, was driving the auto-rickshaw.

Later, Matlib molested her on the running auto-rickshaw. At one stage, the victim jumped from the vehicle. At the time, she sustained injuries in her hands, head and other parts of the body. She was then sent to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital.

The following day, the victim's uncle filed a case with Kamalganj Police Station in this connection.

The speakers at the rally said they will continue the agitation programme until the culprits are brought to book.
