Nasirnagar attack: Prime suspect on 4-day remand
A Brahmanbaria court today placed Jahangir Alam, one of the prime suspects, on a four-day remand hours after he was arrested in connection with a synchronised attack on the Hindus in Nasirnagar upazila of Brahmanbaria on October 30.
Jahangir, who runs a cyber café, was arrested from the district town around noon, said Mizanur Rahman, superintendent of Brahmanbaria police.
Police produced him before the court seeking a 10-day remand for him but the court placed him on four-day remand, said Mahbubur Rahman, inspector of Brahmanbaria Chief Judicial Magistrate Court.
On October 30, zealots vandalised five temples and many houses of the Hindu community in the upazila over a Facebook post.

According to the witnesses, Jahangir printed copies of an image posted in Facebook account of Rasraj Das at his Alamin cyber café at Horinber bazar leading to the synchronised attack on Hindu temples and houses.
Rasraj was also arrested later in connection with the incident.
