Woman kills self

A housewife committed suicide in Chirirbandar upazila yesterday as her husband did not get their television set repaired.

The woman was Jumana Akter Mitu, 20, wife of Latifar Rahman of Shyamnagar village under the upazila.

Police, quoting her family members, said Mitu requested her husband to get their television set repaired when he returned from his workplace.

But Latifar, who works at a hotel, refused saying that he did not have money.

After that, Mitu went into his room and hanged herself from a ceiling fan.
