Six Rohingyas arrested in Jashore

They entered through Benapole border after leaving Hyderabad in India 7 days ago

Jashore Kotwali police arrested six Rohingyas, including three children, from Monihar area in Jashore town on Monday night.

The arrestees are Farid Alam, 30 son of Noor Mollah, his wife Sahara Banu, 20, son Raihan, 3, daughters Rubina, 3, and Monsha, 7, and Rehana Akhter, 22, wife of Anisur Rahman, all of Shahbazpur area of Mandaltola in Rakhain of Myanmar. They are day labourers.

Farid said they were in Hyderabad city in India, and left it seven days ago. They came to Jashore through Benapole border to go illegally to the Rohingya camp in Cox's Bazar, he added.

Jashore Kotwali Police Sub-Inspector Station Habibur Rahman said police conducted a drive in Monihar area of the town and arrested a man, two women and three children.

The arrestees were still at Jashore police stateion as no decision regarding them has been taken till filling of this report around 8:30pm yesterday.
