Bombs blasted at several spots in Jashore

A gang of unidentified people blasted crude bombs at several spots including house premises of important persons and business centres in Jashore district town early yesterday.

Nobody was injured in the attacks.

Later, police recovered bomb making materials from the spots.

“The first bomb blast occurred in front of the residence of Kazi Nabil Ahmed, lawmaker from Jashore-3 constituency, around 3:00am. Then the miscreants exploded bombs near Hotel Jabir International, owned by Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Shahin Chaklader, also general secretary of district Awami League,” said Jashore Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Apurbo Hasan.

They also blasted bombs in front of Chaklader Filling Station. Besides, the houses of city AL acting General Secretary Imam Hasan Lal and Jubo League leader Rajibul Alam were attacked. Bombs and explosives were recovered from every spot.

District Jubo League Vice-President Syed Munir Hossain Tagor's house in Barandipara Kadamtala area was also attacked on January 25, said District Jubo League Organising Secretary Moinuddin Mithu.

Jubo League leader Shafiqul Islam Jewel, also former organising secretary of Jashore district unit of Chhatra League, said unknown people have done this to try and make a name for themselves.

Police are investigating all the incidents, the OC said.
