Netrokona war crimes suspect Ramjan dies
War crimes suspect Ramjan Ali of Netrakona today died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) due to old age complications.
Ali, 78, of Durgapur upazila in Netrokona, died around 5:30pm hours after he was taken to DMCH for treatment from Dhaka Central Jail, reports our correspondent from the hospital.
He was suffering from several old age complications and undergoing treatment several times earlier, said Zakaria Masud, a guard of the jail.
Earlier, law enforcers arrested Ramjan from Kawriapara Launchghat area in Narsingdi town on April 12 this year, hours after the International Crimes International-1 issued an arrest warrant against him and three others.
Earlier on that day, Prosecutor Rana Dasgupta sought the arrest of the four, saying the investigation officer of the case had already found evidence of their involvement in genocide and crimes against humanity committed in 1971.
