MP Rana sent to jail

Awami League lawmaker Amanur Rahman Khan Rana was sent to jail through a court here yesterday after expiry of his two-day remand in the case filed for killing two Jubo League men in 2012.

Earlier, he was taken to the office of  Tangail Detective Branch of police from Kashimpur Central Jail in Gazipur on Saturday for quizzing.

"During interrogation, MP Rana gave some important information and we are verifying those," said Officer-in-Charge of Tangail DB Ashoke Kumar Sinha, also IO of the case.

He, however, declined to tell anything more in this regard for the sake of the investigation.

Rana was shown arrested on Thursday in the case for killing Sadar upazila Jubo League activists Shamim and Mamun.
