Missing girl's body found in septic tank

A girl, who had been missing since Monday, was found dead in the septic tank of her neighbour's house in Nasirnagar upazila yesterday.

The victim was Riya Akter, 8, daughter of London expat Abdul Aziz of Dharmondol village. She was a Class-III student at Dharmondol Alia Madrasa.

Riya went to give halua-ruti to Shahalam's house on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat and did not return home, said Nasirnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Abu Zafar.

Her paternal uncle Abul Bashar filed a general diary with the police station the next day.

Police recovered the body, wrapped in a gunny sack, from the septic tank of Shahalam's house. Police arrested him on suspicion.
