MATS students seek scope for higher education
Students of Medical Assistant Training Schools (MATS) in Tangail demanded the opportunity to get higher education as per five-year plan of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
They formed a human chain in front of Tangail Press Club yesterday to realise their five-point-demand.
Their demands include formation of medical education board and correction of additional gazette of March 16, 2017, post creation and appointment implementation, providing internship allowance, and upgradation of their job to tenth grade.
They held a press conference at Bangabandhu Auditorium in Tangail Press Club under the banner of Diploma Doctors' (DMF Degree) National Problem Alleviation Convening Committee.
Among others, Dr Aminul Islam, general secretary of Tangail district unit of Medical Diploma Education Association, Shuvo Kumar Biswas, president of district unit of Diploma Internee Doctors' Association and students of different MATS spoke at the meeting.
They warned of tougher agitation if their demands were not met immediately.
