Man killed over land dispute in Cox's Bazar

One person was killed and five others were injured in a clash over land at Bharuakhali Dakkhinpara  in Sadar upazila of the district yesterday.

The deceased was Abdur Rahman, 45, son of late Abdul Gafur of the area.

Rahman's family members said he had a longstanding feud over land with his maternal uncle Ali Ahmed.

Ali had an altercation with Rahman yesterday. At one stage, Ali and his men attacked Rahman's family members and hacked him with machete and spade.

Critically injured Rahman collapsed to the ground. He died while being taken to hospital.

Rahman's body was sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

His injured relatives were admitted to the hospital.
