JP MP Feroz unhappy over party role as main opposition
Jatiya Party lawmaker Kazi Feroz Rashid today expressed disappointment over failure of his party to play a strong role as the main opposition party in parliament.
“People do not consider us as the opposition party. How they [people] will consider [us as opposition party]? We cannot speak. I cannot take position against my party or cannot give vote against my party due to article 70 [of the constitution],” he said while speaking at the Jatiya Sangsad.
“Although we are aware of it, we remain silent. We speak less. You can term us as the opposition party or as the party of the government. But people do not treat us as opposition party as we cannot speak,” Feroz said.
Pointing to opposition leader Raushan Ershad, Feroz said, “My leader is sitting here. I don’t want to say much”.
Coming down heavily on the government for widespread corruption at different sectors specially banking, Feroz said, “There is no sign of good governance in anywhere of the country. Hundreds of crores of money have been looted from banks but nothing could be revealed in this regard. What type of symptom it is.”
Horrible situation remains in banking sectors, Feroz said adding that different banks have been suffering from capital crisis due to loot of money from the banks.
He said people having close relation with the government are responsible for this looting. Hundreds of crores of money are being laundered through illegal VOIP, he added.
