Intern on remand

A court here yesterday granted three-day remand for Dr Hasan Rashed Hussain, an accused of much talked about Nahidul Islam Nahid murder case.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Bishwanath Mondal granted the remand after police produced Hasan before the court with seven-day remand prayer.

Police arrested Hasan from Dinajpur Institute compound on March 22.

Hasan is an intern doctor in M Abdur Rahim Medical College in the district.

Nahid, a music teacher of Dinajpur Collectorate School and College, also a cultural activist and a scout leader, was found critically injured at Dinajpur Institute compound on February 26 night. Later, he succumbed to his injuries at M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital.

Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Redwanur Rahim said police got three-day remand from the court to interrogate him for information.

Superintendent of Police Hamidul Alam earlier said they have not got any clue to the murder.
