ICT brightens life of villagers
People of eight villages in three upazilas of the district have been enjoying the benefit of ICT from eight centres for the last few years.
Federation of RDRS Bangladesh, a platform for villagers, have been running the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) centres, two of which are providing training on ICT to educate youths.
Nazmin Nahar, 21, of Aditmari upazila, said, “After receiving training at RDRS's centre, I will take up outsourcing to earn a living.”
Majedul Islam, 22, of the same village, said the training will make him self-sufficient, adding that 30 other youths of his village are receiving training on ICT.
Farmer Hamidul Islam, 52, of the upazila, said he goes to the ICT centre to get information on agriculture.
Field Coordinator of RDRS Bangladesh in Lalmonirhat Maidul Islam said many people have got jobs after receiving the training at the two centres at Mahishkhocha village of Aditmari upazila and Tushbhandar village of Kaliganj upazila, where 100 people receive training every day.
