Gunpowder seized, man arrested

Police arrested a man with 619 grams of gunpowder in Hakimpur upazila of the district yesterday.

The arrestee is Md Meher Ali, 57, son of late Jan Bakhs Sheikh of Dakkhin Basudevpur village in Hakimpur.

“Tipped off, a police team raided the house of Meher Ali at noon and arrested him with the gunpowder. He was produced before the court that sent him to Dinajpur jail in the afternoon,” said Anwar Hossain, inspector (Investigation) of Hakimpur Police Station.
