Ex-envoy Maroof Zaman goes missing

Former ambassador to Vietnam Maroof Zaman has been missing since Monday night after he left his Dhanmondi residence to pick up his daughter from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, police said.

The 61-year-old diplomat left his house on Road 9/A by his private car for the airport on Monday evening as his younger daughter Samiha Zaman was scheduled to land around 7:30pm, Maroof’s brother Rifat Zaman told The Daily Star.

Officer-In-Charge of Dhanmondi Police Station Abdul Latif said Maroof's daughter Samiha Zaman filed a general diary with the police station this noon over her father's missing.

The law enforcers have already started investigating the matter, the police official said.
