College boy killed a day after he gets death threat

A college boy was found dead yesterday morning in Khansama upazila, a day after he received death threat over a love affair.

The victim was Mrityunjoy Sharma, 17, son of Dhananjoy Sharma of Ramnagar (Napitpara) village under the upazila. He was a HSC 1st year student of Kachiniya School and College in the upazila.

Laxmi Rani, mother of the boy, said her son had an affair with a Class X girl of Garpara (Shahapara) village in the upazila. A relative of the girl came to their house on Monday afternoon and threatened to kill Mrityunjoy if he did not stop affair with the girl, she added.

The parents found their son missing at around 5:30pm Monday. However, they did not file any general diary with Khansama Police Station. 

Villagers found Mrityunjoy's body in a makeshift latrine yesterday morning.

Father of the boy claimed that his son was murdered over the affair.

Police recovered the body and sent it to M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Sub-inspector AKM Atiqur Rahman, who visited the spot, said the boy was strangled to death and the process was underway to file a murder case with the police station.
