Can’t rule out spread of coronavirus in Bangladesh yet: Sayeed Khokon
Underscoring the importance of taking precautions, outgoing Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sayeed Khokon today said the possibility of coronavirus spread in Bangladesh cannot be ruled out yet.
“We have a very close contact with China and its people. Most of the essentials we use every day come from there. The Chinese are involved in many development projects in our country. So, it would not be wise to rule out the possibility of coronavirus attack in Bangladesh,” he said.
Khokon came up with the remarks while addressing a seminar on “Remedy of Coronavirus and Action” held at the Mayor Hanif auditorium room.
If, somehow, we came into contact with the virus, the results would be devastating, Syeed Khokon said.
At the seminar, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical University’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Kanak Kanti Barua urged people not to panic and asked them to take all-out measures as per directions of physicians.
