Cancel new JCD body in Pirojpur

A section of leaders of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) in the district have demanded cancellation of the recently declared district unit committee.

The district unit JCD committee has been formed under the leadership of disputed men, Md Tanzid Hasan Shaon, senior vice-president of new district unit JCD committee, said, reading out a written statement at a press conference held at Pirojpur Press Club on Monday.

“Those who were active in the road during anti-government movement have not got place in the committee. We will not participate in any political activities with the top leaders of Pirojpur district unit committee if the committee is not cancelled, Shaon alleged.

Several other JCD leaders at the conference alleged that present general secretary of district unit JCD Badiuzzaman Sheikh Rubel is married and there are allegations of his involvement with disputed activities.

New committee President Hasan Al Manun was not active during anti- government movements and the central committee did not consult with district unit BNP leaders to select top leaders of the committee, they claimed.

They also alleged that Pirojpur district unit JCD committee has been announced through managing some inconsiderate central leaders.

Emdadul Haque Masud, former joint convener of district unit JCD, vice  presidents Imran Ahmed Shajeeb, Khairul Islam Babu and Atikur Rahman Parves and other leaders were present in the press conference, among others.

A new eight-member Pirojpur district unit JCD committee was announced on 5 June.

Meanwhile, several leaders of Jubo Dal, youth organization of BNP, have also demanded cancellation of the recently announced district committee, alleging that top leaders of the committee have connection with the ruling party men and they were not involved with any anti-government movement.
