Brick kiln worker murdered

A 19-year-old brick kiln worker was found murdered at Birhatija village in Melandah upazila of the district yesterday.

The deceased, Iman Ali, was son of Sonahar Ali of Dakkhin Dariabad village in Islampur upazila. 

Iman had been working as a worker-cum night guard at Jeki Brick Kiln for the last couple of years and used to live at a tin-she room at the brick kiln premises.

Police, however, detained one of Iman's neighbours Raju, 24, for quizzing, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Melandah Police Station Mazharul Karim.

Police said fellow workers spotted Iman's throat-slit body in his room in the morning and informed the brick kiln manager Furkan Ali.
