Boisabi begins today
A festive atmosphere prevails over the hill district as the three-day 'Boisabi Utsab' of the indigenous people will begin here today.
The Marma community, however, follow Burmese calendar. So their Sangrai festival will start on April 14.
Meanwhile, the festival has already started in different indigenous villages through various programmes.
A colourful rally of Boisabi organised by Khagrachhari Hill District Council was held here yesterday.
Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Ministry acting Secretary Nurul Amin inaugurated the programme.
The colourful rally began around 10:00am at Khagrachhari District Council office premises and ended at the town hall premises after parading the main roads of the town.
People from all walks of life took part in the rally.
At the end of the rally, indigenous people performed their traditional dance.
