Bid to kill B'baria zila chairman

Five Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leaders have been sued on charge of  attempting to kill Brahmanbaria Zila Parishad chairman and an activist.

The accused are BCL Brahmanbaria Government College unit President Shahadat Hossain Shuvon, Joint Secretary Rabbi, former district convener Jahangir Hossain, district Vice-President Zidni Islam and Assistant Secretary Emon.

Jahirul Islam filed the case yesterday.

Jahirul in his statement said the accused tried to kill him on December 16 when he was placing wreaths at a Liberation War memorial. The accused swooped on Zila Parishad Chairman Shafiqul Alam as he came forward to save Jahirul.
