Bicycle riding takes his life

An eight-year-old boy met a tragic death when he was learning how to ride a bicycle at Ragrapara village in Biral upazila on Saturday.

The deceased was Abu Ruhit, son of Abu Taher Azad of the village, and a Class II student of a local primary school, said Abdul Mozid, officer-in-charge of Biral Police Station .

Family members said Ruhit came out of his home in the afternoon taking his father's bicycle to learn riding. During the practice, he suddenly fell on the road and sustained critical injuries on his head.

Ruhit was rushed to the upazila health complex, where on duty doctors declared him dead, said the OC.

A pall of gloom descended the village upon receiving the death news.

A general diary was filed with the police station in this connection, said the police official.
