BGB, drug peddlers exchange fire in Cox’s Bazar
An alleged drug peddler from Myanmar was injured during an exchange of fire with Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Naf River in Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar early today.
Police detained three other Myanmar citizens and seized 1.5 lakh pieces of yaba and 2 bullets after searching their boat, our staff correspondent reports quoting BGB Commader Lt Colonel Abujar Al Jahid.
Three BGB men were also injured when the drug pedlers attack them with oars, the official added.
The injured drug pedddler, Yunus, 45, was sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for better treatment, Abujar was quoted as saying.
The injured BGB men were rushed to Teknaf Sadar Hospital.
In another drive, a patrol team of BGB recovered another 5 lakh yaba Tablets from Joillar Dia in Teknaf, Abujar said.
No one was arrested in this incident.
