Bangladeshi students in US highest in 2016-17

The number of Bangladeshi students travelling to the United States for education has reached an all-time high in 2017, the US embassy in Dhaka said today.

In a press release, the embassy said a total of 7,143 Bangladeshis went to the US for education in that year, placing Bangladesh in top 25 student sender list.

Most of the students during 2016-17 were graduate students amounting to 4,319. The second highest were undergraduate students totalling to 1,816.

Also, the number of students travelling from US to Bangladesh for education purposes during the 2016-17 school year dropped to 27 from what was 81 last time.
