Azimpur raid: Militant Shamshed ‘slit his own throat’
Suspected militant Shamshed Hossain “committed suicide by slitting his throat” during last night’s raid in Azimpur, doctors said today after autopsy.
Sohel Mahmud, assistant professor at the forensic and medicine department of Dhaka Medical College, revealed the information while talking to The Daily Star.
The cut on his throat was three inches in length and one-and-half inches deep. It was caused using a sharp weapon, the doctor said.
Hossian died and his three accomplices were injured during a police raid at a house in the capital's Azimpur last night.
All the three injured are women. Five cops were also wounded after being attacked by the militants.
Police detained the three women who were being treated, one in a critical condition, at DMCH.
The injured cops were also taken there for treatment.
