2 Ashkona 'militants' on fresh remand
A Dhaka court today placed two female militant suspects on a six-day remand in a case filed over a raid at a militant hideout in Dhaka’s Dakkhin Khan area on December 24.
Trisha Moni, wife of the militant outfit “Neo JMB” leader Maynul Musa, and Jebunnahar Shila, widow of Major (retd) Jahid alias Murad, surrendered during the operation with their two children on that day.
Metropolitan Magistrate Subrata Sikder passed the order after Saidur Rahman, inspector of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit and also investigation officer of the case, produced them before the court with 10 days’ remand prayer for them.

Earlier on December 26, they were placed on a seven-day remand by another Dhaka court in connection with the case filed against eight named and three to four unnamed people.

Two persons including a woman were killed during the raid at the militant hideout on December 24.
The motive of the suspected female militant was to blow herself up in the midst of policemen as she detonated a suicide vest while rushing to them with her four-year-old daughter.
A few steps from the law enforcers, the suspected female militant, Shakira, died in the blast with parts of her body being damaged. The baby girl, Sabina, survived with serious injuries.

A 14-year-old, Afif Kaderi, also died during the operation. He was the son of Neo JMB leader Tanvir Kaderi, who committed suicide during the September 10 raid on a militant hideout in Azimpur of the capital.
