7 years RI for drug peddler

A court here yesterday sentenced a drug peddler to rigorous imprisonment for seven years.

Judge of Patuakhali Special Judge's Court Basudev Roy delivered the judgment.

The convict is Musa Talukder, 31, son of Abdur Rob Talukder of Sheally village in Sadar upazila.

The prosecution said members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested Musa on August 16 in 2016 with 155 pieces of Yaba from Water Works Road in the town.

Deputy Assistant Director Sohrab Uddin of Rab-8 Patuakhali camp filed a case with Patuakhali Police Station in this regard.

Police submitted the charge sheet to the court on August 22 the same year.
