6 idols stolen from Nasirnagar temple

Six idols were stolen from a temple in Nasirnagar upazila of Brahmanbaria early today.
The theft occurred around 3:30am at Sree Sree Gopinath Jeu temple at Fandauk village in the upazila, Md Abu Jafar, officer-in-charge of Nasirnagar Police Station, told The Daily Star.
“A group of thieves entered the temple breaking eight locks and stole five big brass-made idols and one stone-made idol,” our correspondent reports quoting the priest of the temple, Gouro Charan Das.
The priest found himself locked when he woke up in the morning. He came out of the room with the help of locals and found the idols missing.
The thieves locked the priest in his room inside the temple in his sleep, the correspondent reports.
The temple is run by International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON).
