5 return home from Indian jail
Five Bangladeshis including a teenage girl returned home from India last night after completing two years' imprisonment in an Indian jail.
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) handed them over to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at Benapole check post, reports our local correspondent.
Nazrul Islam, commander of BGB camp at Benapole check post, said the four Bangladeshi boys and a teenage girl entered Indian territory without valid documents through Jessore border in search of work two and a half years ago.
Indian police arrested them in Kolkata for intrusion. An Indian court, later, handed down two years imprisonment to each.
Sub-Inspector Motiur Rahman of Benapole Port Police Station said law enforcers handed the returnees over to their respective families.
