5 B'baria BCL men arrested with liquor

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested five leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League with five bottles of liquor from Kasba upazila of the district on Monday, police said.

The arrestees include Azimur Reza, 23, assistant secretary of Kasba upazila unit of BCL, and activist Din Mohammad Swapan.

Mohammad Mohiuddin, officer-in-charge of Kasba Police Station, said, on information, the border guards arrested the five with the liquor from the area at night.

The arrestees were later handed over to police. A case was filed in this connection, said the OC.

Kasba upazila BCL General Secretary Afzal Hossain Rimon said Swapan and Azimur are active in upazila BCL politics while the rest are ordinary students.
