4 women return home from Indian jail
Four Bangladeshi women have returned home from India after serving two and a half years in an Indian prison.
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) handed them over to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at Benapole check post last night, reports our local correspondent.
Abdul Wohab, commander of BGB camp at Benapole check post, said the four Bangladeshi women entered Indian territory three years back without valid documents through Jessore border in search of work.
Indian police arrested them in Kolkata for intrusion. A case was filed against them and an Indian court, later, handed down two and a half years' imprisonment to each.
Sub-Inspector Motiur Rahman of Benapole Port Police Station said law enforcers handed the returnees over to their respective families.
