14 Dakhil examinees found fake, 3 jailed

All the 14 Dakhil examinees of a madrasa in Ghatail upazila were found fake.

The examinees of Montala Islamia Madrasa were taking part in the Dakhil examinations at Shahar Gopinpur Fazil Madrasa centre.

Acting on a tip-off, a mobile court, led by Assistant Commissioner (land) Ambia Sultana, went to the centre during the general mathematics examination on Saturday. 

The AC while checking the admit cards of the examinees at the centre found three fake examinees giving proxy in place of the real examinees and arrested them.

The 11 other examinees at the hall managed to flee from the centre at the time.

Later, the AC sentenced the three fake examinees -- Sima, 18, Mahmuda, 18, and Tania, 18, to one year's imprisonment each. They were later sent to jail.

Two invigilators of the centre were withdrawn on allegation of negligence of duty.

The AC said the 11 other examinees were also giving proxy in place of the real examinees. 

Superintendent of the madrasa Nurul Islam was found absconding since the incident, she said.
