Cops keep delaying producing Mujibur, driver in court
Police have again delayed producing BNP leader Mujibur Rahman and his chauffeur Rezaul Haque before a Sunamganj court to record their statements about their 'abduction'.
A police official said they were waiting for Rezaul to return from Dhaka.
A police team took Rezaul to the capital on Saturday to retrace his steps during the two days he stayed there after being freed, the official said, adding that the duo may be placed before the court today.
The duo was initially supposed to be produced before the court on August 21.
Meanwhile, Mujibur, escorted by police, visited the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal in Sylhet on Saturday, said Additional Superintendent of Police, Sunamganj Hemayetul Islam.
Mujibur is currently staying at his residence in Sunamganj, he added.
Mujibur, a member of the advisory committee of the BNP's Sunamganj unit, was kidnapped along with Rezaul on May 4 in Sunamganj.
They were freed in Tongi on August 18.
