Cityscape opens country's first green commercial building
Cityscape Tower, the country's first green commercial building made by Cityscape International Ltd, is now open for inspections and purchase.
Nahid Sarwar, managing director of Cityscape International; Trina Falgune, head of marketing communications and sales, and Abdur Rashid, chief engineer, shared the information at a press meet in Dhaka yesterday.
The tower, flagship project of the company, is the country's first commercial building to pursue LEED Platinum Certification under the Core and Shell category by the United State Green Building Council, the company said in a statement.
There have been 162 LEED Platinum buildings in the world so far, of which 26 are in Asia, according to the statement.
Cityscape Tower can withstand earthquakes up to 7.5 on Richter scale and ensure up to 44 percent less energy and 60 percent less water consumption, the company said.
The tower has its own energy generating system powered by rooftop solar panels and is equipped with rainwater harvesting system, water treatment plant, sewerage treatment plant, and air-cooling system.
The tower also has vehicle surveillance system, close circuit cameras with 37x zooming and a world class access control system.
