Yaba worth Tk 1.5cr seized

Rapid Action Battalion in a drive arrested a man and recovered yaba pills worth Tk 1.5 crore from his possession in Moijjartek area of the port city yesterday.

The arrestee is Md Asdar Ali, 50, son of late Asghar Ali hailing from Motihar of Rajshahi district.

Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of RAB-7's Media Wing Mimtanur Rahman said Asdar Ali was detained from in front of one Shafi Tower of Maijjartek area.  Later, Rab seized 21,500 yaba pills from his possession, said ASP Mimtanur.

He was handed over to Karnaphuli Police Station while a case was lodged in this connection.
