Witnesses' deposition postponed till January 18
A Sylhet court yesterday postponed recording of witnesses' depositions in former finance minister SAMS Kibria murder case.
The court fixed January 18 as none of the 171 witnesses was present yesterday, said Kishor Kumar Kar, additional public prosecutor.
Prime accused in the murder case, suspended Sylhet city mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury and suspended Habiganj Municipality mayor Golam Kibria Gaus, were present yesterday, he added.
Arif and Gaus were freed on bail on January 4.
The then opposition lawmaker and Awami League leader Kibria and four others, including his nephew Shah Manzur Huda, were killed in a grenade attack on a rally in Habiganj on January 27, 2005.
