USAID gives contraceptives for Rohingyas
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has provided 622,800 doses of injectable contraceptives to the Bangladesh government for Rohingya refugees.
Responding to a request from the health and family welfare ministry of Bangladesh, USAID handed over the health products on Sunday bringing the total contribution from the United States to nearly one million doses valued at US $901,232, read a press release of the US embassy in Dhaka.
USAID also donated three million sachets of oral rehydration solution in December 2017.
Since August 25, 2017, the US government has provided over US $110 million to assist the Rohingya refugees, who have fled from Myanmar into Bangladesh, as well as the host communities in Bangladesh.
