TRY grand collection event held in Dhaka
Ex-Cadets Forum (ECF), global platform for former-cadets from all cadet colleges organised its biggest toy collection event, Toys-R-Yours (TRY) yesterday at Gulshan in Dhaka.
People were asked to bring their old unused toys and books from their homes and donate these for the underprivileged children in the event at The Mughal Kitchen in Gulshan 1, states a press release.
Celebrities like Tahsan, band Shironamhin, Sulaiman Shukhon, Arif R Hossain, Miftah Zaman joined the day-long event to donate and encourage others to donate.
The toy donors handed-over the toys to their favorite celebrities, took selfies with them. Top officials from different corporate also attended the event.
Over 1000 toys and more than 500 books were collected during the event. All these toys and books will go to different underprivileged schools in coming days.
This year, the project is targeting to reach 10,000 underprivileged children with toys and story books. So far in 2016, children in 16 schools received toys and children in 12 schools received library support covering over 5,000 children in very remote areas like Pirojpur, Bandarban, Kisoreganj, Cox’s Bazar.
Perfetti Van Melle, payPoint, surjoPay and IPDC sponsored TRY project this year. N9ine Sports and Marketing Consultancy was the Food Sponsor, Mughol Kitchen was the Venue Partner and ABC Radio was the Radio Partner for the TRY Grand Collection Event.
TRY project is a globally recognised initiative organised by global platform for former-cadets from all cadet colleges in Bangladesh.
It collects used toys and story books from schools, corporate and individuals and provides them to the underprivileged children in various underprivileged schools in Bangladesh.
Initiated only in last year, TRY project already supported over 7000 underprivileged with toys and story books by establishing libraries.
