Workshop owner murdered in flat
Unidentified criminals killed a workshop owner by slitting his throat in his flat in the capital's Badda area yesterday.
AKM Monzil Haque, 32, from Comilla, used to live alone in the flat as he separated from his wife five years ago, said police.
The building's guard, Kalam, let four youths enter the house around 11:00am as they identified themselves as the “neighbouring junior brothers” of Monzil, Badda Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kazi Wazed Ali quoted Kalam as saying.
They left the scene moments after they had killed Monzil, said the OC.
Police picked up a woman, who used to frequent Monzil's flat, from her Banasree house, he said.
Monzil ran a motor vehicle workshop in Banasree area, said a neighbour.
Meanwhile, muggers shot a woman in the right leg and snatched her purse and gold chain near Rajdhani Super Market in capital's Tikatuli area on Sunday night.
Shahida Akhter, 26, of Wari, was undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
